One Size Does Not Fit All

As much as we all hate getting down to business and working off those three margaritas with a side of chips and guac we had at happy hour it needs to be done especially during swimsuit season. There are no bulky sweaters to hide behind now! So maybe some cute duds and the perfect support will make the whole thing a little more appealing. And there's the challenge... finding a comfy, supportive, as shiek as they can be, sports bra. But I have a solution. Tomorrow at Paragon sports, 18th St. & Broadway, expert fitters from CW-X, Moving Comfort, Jogbra and Paragon Sports will be available to help you in your quest to find the perfect fitting sports bra. Bonus: certain styles of sports bras on special sale for this event! Sounds inspiring to me...

And There Is Another

If you are in love with Kara Janx's kimono dress but you larger than the petite size 10 that is the max available you might want to check this out. Alight has a very similar one that will be much more comfy for my curvaceous ladies. Lighweight jersey (my fav) is fashioned into a flirty and feminine day-to-evening dress. Perfect for casual brunches yet dressy enough for evening cocktails out. And surprisingly it is less expensive than Kara's. Gotta love it.

Be A Part Of It

Although this season's Project Runway is already heating up you have to think back on the roots of this fab show. Like what happened to last season's winner Kara? You can ask her yourself if you'd like tonight. Stop by Girlshop (819 Washington Street btwn. Gansevoort & Little W. 12th) from 6-8:30, meet her, and preview her fall collection while sipping on complimentary Midori cocktails. Sounds like a good deal especially when you throw in some exclusive pieces only for Girlshop...

First Birthday Gift This Year

Thank you Woodbury Commons!!! You know what I want more thank anyone else...

Lock-It Away

The Devil Wear Prada

I finally saw The Devil Wears Prada and I loved it even more than the book! I mean normally that happy storybook ending doesn't really float my boat but this time it really worked. All I can say is I want to be Andy rocking out in the Runway accesory closet with Nigel.

She's Still Got It

Well we all remeber how even when Gwen looked like she had swallwed a beach ball she still had the utmost style. And now it's nice to see that even though she is on her way to becoming mommy of the year she still has the best of taste, toting little Kingston around in Gucci. A child of privelage if I ever saw one, designer accesories from birth! If you want your little bundle of joy to share the same start you can pick up the carrier here for a mere $790.

Blast From The Very Recent Past

Remeber this! I know you were crushed that you missed it if you did but fret not because you can take a trip on every Thursday thru Sunday, 12-7 pm from now until whenever the fashion gods no longer smile upon North Bergen. A truck load of cute and amazing goodies has been delivered like Michael Kors boots, D&G jeans, Tocca skirts & tops, Gucci shoes, Burberry sunglasses, Luella bags, and so much more!!

Let's Hear It For The Boys

Most of the great fashion news is aimed at women so I don't normally have much news for the boys. That is until now. I have to say I'm a little jealous at the things that I have come across. Where fashion meets function is an understatement. Men always get the best tech-y things. Like, this iPod tie from Thomas Pink. And how about this iJACKET from Zegna Sport which features a clever iPod connection in the inner breast pocket and a control panel on the outer sleeve. I'm waiting to see if the girlies will get anything tech-y besides Swarovski encrusted earbuds... I'm still waiting.

New Lover

Cammie Hill's feminine and flirty collection was conceived almost four years ago with one signature ruffled wristlet made famous by Carrie Bradshaw on "Sex and the City" and the rest is history. Now you can get things from her new collection for 30% with the code DCCAMMIE at checkout. My pick is the frame envelope clutch. The perfect summer or fall accesory, good for a night out on the town or a walk through the park. And with a variety or colors to choose from you can match anything you have in your closet.

Apparently...

These are the cool shoes to be wearing. Spicoli made them an institution in black and white but I have seen four or five people in the past couple of weeks rocking these brown and pinks with jeans, shorts, leggings. skirts. You name it and it has been done. If you want to jump on this bandwagon you can get them at Urban.

Razr's Edge

I got the black RAZR phone when it was first released in (allegedly) limited edition for Verizon for Christmas (thanks Dad). I felt extremely cool having this sleek, cutting edge piece of tech until literally every other person I saw on the street had one in blue, silver, pink, whatever. It lost it's charm very quickly and I have since switched back to Sprint and gotten their version of the RAZR, the BLADE (thanks Dad)! Which I have to say is, by far, a much better phone and Sprint, although not as reliable as Verizon, is much more reasonable in terms of cost but, I digress. I seemed to have jumped of the RAZR bandwagon and not a minute too soon because check this out... eighties-are-back, Dolce & Gabbana Motorola RAZR V3i in chromatic blingin' gold. It has all the features you'd expect, plus it comes pre-loaded with Dolce & Gabbana customized ringtones, screen savers, wallpapers and even mp3s. Tacky? Absolutely. You can only take these things so far...

Sex and the City II?

HBO seems to be pining for its Sex and the City days. Two years since the highly successful series bid a sad farewell, the cable network has quietly initiated plans to launch a follow-up show—except this time, it’s reality-based. Producers from HBO’s “real-life” series, which has yet to be titled, recently sent out questionnaires to a bevy of fashionable PYTs in an attempt to gauge their interest and potential participation, with the premise of “following the lives of a group of glamorous and dynamic girlfriends in their 20s, living in Manhattan.” Among those said to have been approached—and who, for the most part, declined the offer—are Calvin Klein publicist Annelise Peterson, Harrison & Shriftman publicist Ferebee Bishop, Vanity Fair executive fashion editor Alexis Bryan, and Earnest Sewn public relations director Eleanor Ylvisaker. All declined to comment on the situation, but another “it-girl” that was contacted said, “The idea is to show that real girls can, and do indeed, lead those Sex and the City lives—that we’re not all pretend.” -- Fashion Week Daily

I have to say I'm not all that excited, why would they try to fix somehting that isn't broken. I mean I miss Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte, and Miranda as much as the next aspiring NYC fashionista but these people will not be the same as those characters that hold a special place in our hearts. I suppose if they stop trying to spin it as a reality version of SATC maybe I can get onboard but until then I will boycott it. That is if they can ever find a real life "it-girl" who will agree to it.

So Jealous!

The house of Balenciaga is pleased to announce the exhibition "Balenciaga Paris" presented by the house of Balenciaga and Les Arts Decoratifs, Musee De La Mode Et Du Textile in Paris. Those lucky Parisian ducks! Maybe I can make time in my busy schedule before January 28, 2007 and hop a plane to Paris. If not there is always the website with videos and such.
